Alex de Mora shoots Kiosk Cover Story
'Kiosk Magazine have always been really great to work with, as they're always open to interesting creative ideas. The fashion editor approached me wanting to shoot a friend who was an ice skater but styled in high fashion pieces.
I wanted to give the shoot a colourful and psychedelic edge, with a nod to the disco lighting you get in ice rinks.
We didn't want the shoot to feel too static, so needed movement within the images. I wanted Rae, the ice skater to look powerful. It was a pretty tricky job, especially shooting on medium format film but I loved the challenge and spent a lot of the time lying flat on my front on the ice to get the shots I wanted!
