ALL FOOD AND NO PLAY

A foodie homage inspired by 'The Shining’ by Davide Luciano + Claudia Ficca

The photographic collection sees the reinterpretation of the famed psychological thriller ‘The Shining’ through food. The movie’s most iconic characters, scenes, places and phrases are crafted out of cupcakes, peas, and pie, mimicking the colours and compositions from Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining” called All Food and No Play.
"Kubrick has been a source of inspiration for me since my days as a film student. Claudia and I wanted to do something fun with food and film and so naturally the film The Shining came up."- Davide Luciano.
Beginning with the Overlook Hotel's signature hedge maze, which they made out of snow peas, ‘Dull Cherry Pie’ – cherry pies covered with the words ‘all work and no play makes jack a dull boy’. ‘Redrum Soup’ – danny spells out ‘redrum’ in his alphabet soup. ‘Jack’s Frozen Heart’ – jack’s heart is frozen in an ice block in the maze, to eerily perfect cupcake versions of the Grady Twins.
